Tires

Post by richard » Sun Jan 12, 2014 4:51 pm

I'm nearly at the point in my restoration of replacing the 30 year old slicks on my rig. My question is...what are my choices for new rubber/ It's a vintage rig with 10" rims...

Thanks in advance

Rick

Looks like Avon is only making sidecar tires in for 13 & 14 inch rims. They appear to have some non-sidecar specific tires:

If any of those sizes look promising we check with Avon tire engineers to see if they might be suitable.

Or you could try finding some suitable Hoosier slicks:

I need to get everyone's wish list for the first Avon order to start the season off. Maybe around the beginning to middle of March?
As usual we'll aim to do 2 orders to capture most everything in bulk and spread out the duties payed.

Is there a price list somewhere on the AVONS?

I'll likely be ordering 3 sets so that should bring the average price down

I'll need a set for the Kawasaki and later on a set for the Ierson.
We'll keep our eyes open to the order date.

Rick: apparently a Yokohama 10" AO32R may also be an option for you. Happy hunting.
