Official Number Sizes & Colors

Post by ChrisWells » Tue Mar 15, 2011 9:05 pm

Do our F1 rules set out minimum and/or maximum sizes for our competition numbers? Also font and colors?

I already know front and both sides ;-)

What's 292?
Sounds like alot of letters, more than that little fairing can hold :P

Yes there is something written in the rules about numbers being a certain size and Black Numbers on a white background.

I believe this rule was written before the use of transponders so it hasn't been enforced for a while. I can't see it really makes a lot of difference now as long as your number is somewhat legible!

Paint them Pink with Blue Polka dots if it turns your crank

I'm using white numbers on a black background this year mostly because it looks good on that fairing.

No it's not a secret.

Mick has the Rules for F1 but they haven't been posted on the website yet.

I am going by a faint memory here, but something tells me they are to be no smaller than 8" high. They have to be visible for the tower to see.

Keep in mind there are other reasons for the numbers to be visible besides lap times.
Marshalls, gridding,...

All the bikes that are racing in 2011 have all been raced at least between the last 3 – 6yrs with NO protests of any kind!

All the rules are still the same, no changes. So I really don’t understand where this is coming from. :? :? :? :? :? Why would there suddenly be lot’s of protests????

yes this true and since ewen as pres the club members have never gotten a copy of rules handed out to them. so during that time no one realy knows what rules are in effect. as i always said why put wrong rules on web site or are those the true rules. depends on who you are how the rules were inforced. as i have heard of let race not a big deal in one pit
but oh it ok if your in another pit. so maybe this year a copy of rules should be given out to memebers to look at and fixed at the end of year.
but remeber the key thing we all treated alike ( like when i was president)
rules help president and vise to do things right
