Newbie - BCTrout

Post by BCTrout » Tue Apr 10, 2018 5:20 pm

By way of introduction, I’m a new greenhorn scheduled to attend the upcoming April session New Rider School training as a new monkey. Last year I started looking into potentially dipping my toe into this venture as it’s always been a desire.

Having recognized a few physical deficiencies, I’ve been preparing in the gym twice weekly since last summer, bumped it up this year and dropped 25lbs since January with another 10 planned to go by May. Riding gear examined, new gloves arriving today, and a challenging zipper replacement to be completed Saturday.

I’ve spoken with a few to give an idea about myself, attitude, inspiration and what kind of personality one might expect to be ferrying around. I have an inkling of what to expect and under no illusions that the show may well prove to be more than my potential can handle. Regardless, my commitment is to seriously give my best.

Look forward to meeting as many of the SRA characters as possible – It will go a long way to replacing the mind chatter from the host of characters currently occupying my mind.

My driving/riding history is colorful if not limited. Been riding ZZR in SW BC for some years now, of late with custom suspension. Past East Coast NB experience includes 70s trail, hill climbing & transport S&B push/chase car escort. 67 289 3 spd mustang family car was the 1st cage I learned to drive. Family history includes watching my grandfather tune is cab each night after dinner (1950s – 60s Alta rum runner).

I would also like to continue riding, if amenable to a driver, for the immediately following track days if so planned to follow the NRS. Long term plans are limited but time & adrenaline will tell.

Regards,

Welcome to sidecar racing - a very addictive sport. See you at Shannonville next week, hopefully with some better weather than this weekend!
